Umm Salal represents a municipality located in Qatar.
Situated about 10 kilometers from the coast and 15 kilometers from Doha’s north, the Umm Salal contains a number of historical places, such as the Barzan Tower. On land, it borders the Al Rayyan (southwest), Al Jumaliyah (northwest), Al Khawr (north), while the shores of the Persian Gulf are Umm Salal’s eastern edge. Alongside other municipalities, the city has seen increased urban development over the course of the last several years. New stadium is underway and four more gardens have been constructed in different regions of municipality. The employment rate is also steadily growing, alongside the number of buildings and facilities such as the building for technical affairs, a brand new building for health and public affairs. Historical amenities include the Barzan Towers in Umm Salal Mohammed and Castle of late Sheikh Mohammad bin Jasem Al-Thani and more. There are also farms, cool water wells and pastures in the vicinity.
