Holding more than 90% of the entire Emirate population, the city of Ajman is located along the Persian Gulf, just to the north of Sharjah and forms an urban area that houses companies, markets, banks and many local and international retail shops. There are several tourist attractions in the city such as the Ajman National Museum situated at Ajman Fort, the Red Fort and the museum in the inland enclave of Manama. The main airport in the emirate is located about 60 km east of the city in Al Manama enclave and it is expected to be operational in Q1 2019. Meanwhile, Ajman residents can use Sharjah International Airport which is only dozen kilometers away from the city.
The Al Raqaib is an area located in Ajman that consists of two small neighboring areas – Al Raqaib 1 and Al Raqaib 2. Their surrounding areas are Al Muntazi 2, Al Alia, Al Jerf Industrial 3, Al Hamidiya 2 and Al Bahia. There are only several amenities in these areas that include some supermarkets and grocery stores such as the Baniyas Spike Hypermarket, Al Hooth Supermarket, Tasfia Supermarket, Nesto Hypermarket, mosques and places of worship such as the Masjid Mosque and Hamidiya Mosque, schools such as the Ibn Tymyah School, bakeries, restaurants and cafeterias such as the Al Malaki Alkhas Kabab And Restaurant, Weekend Burger, Laymoon Kabab Restaurant, Alesharah Cafeteria and more. There is also a Mulk Stadium and Ajman Oval Cricket Ground.
